Egypt's Safaga Port closed Sunday due to bad weather

Safaga and Hurghada ports are closed, and diving and sailing activities suspended in El-Gouna, because of a dust storm Sunday

The Red Sea Ports Authority decided to close Safaga Port Sunday as a result of dust storms that hit the region, reported state news organisaton MENA.

"The effect of the dust storm on Sunday will also force Hurghada Port to be closed," Major General Hassan Falah, head of Red Sea Port Authority, added in his statement to MENA.

Falah said that the dust storm would extend as far as Suez to the north.

Falah also added that he issued decisions to stop all diving and saling activities in El-Gouna area near Hurghada.
