Ministry of Justice investigators looking into allegations of corruption within the Ministry of Agriculture issued a freeze on the assets of Yousef Wali, former minister of agriculture, as well as Mohamed Azab Suweilam of the General Authority for Agricultural Development and businessman Soliman Amer. They have all been denied the right to travel. The decision includes their wives and children.
In another development, the committee responsible for investigating the "Battle of the Camel" — the events of 2 February when regime thugs attacked peaceful protesters in Tahrir Square on horseback and on camels — has ordered Huseein Megawer, former head of the government controlled Egyptian Federation of Trade Unions, as well as Ehab El-Omdah, former member of parliament for Al-Zawya Al-Hamra, to be remanded in custody for their alleged involvement in the notorious incident.
