Egyptian military bands played music at two Cairo toll stations in celebration of the Islamic Eid holiday, army spokesman Mohamed Samir said.

The bands played at the toll stations on the Cairo-Alexandria and the Cairo-Ain Sokhna highways and surveyed passengers on how to improve road services.

The coastal city of Alexandria, Egypt's second city, and the resort coast of Ain Sokhna are popular destinations for Egyptian holiday makers.

The current Ain Sokhna highway was built and is operated by the Egyptian Armed Forces. The military also procured the maintenance and management of the Cairo-Alexandria desert road in October 2013.
