Set to start on Saturday, the two-day summit is being held just a few days after a Saudi-led regional coalition launched air strikes against the Houthi rebels who have taken control of several major cities in the west of Yemen.
Egyptian president Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and Egyptian premier Ibrahim Mahlab on Friday welcomed Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas, Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Sudanese president Omar Al-Bashir to Egypt for the meeting.
Qatar Emir, Sheik Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, is expected to head his country's delegation at the summit, Qatar's news agency said on Friday.
Yemeni president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi is also scheduled to attend the summit on Saturday.
The Yemeni crisis is expected to top the summit's agenda.
