The Egyptian Metrological Authority (EMA) said it expects rain across most of the country, state news agency MENA reported on Sunday.

EMA predicts the possibility of floods due to heavy rain and thunderstorms in Sinai, the Red Sea mountains, and southern areas of the country.

Maritime navigation will remain unstable in the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, the EMA added. 

Cairo will see a low of 18 degrees Celsius and a high of 25 degrees Celsius, while Alexandria, the Medterranean governorate that has been hit by a bad-weather that lead to the death of several people on Sunday, will witness a low of 17 degrees Celsius and a high of 24 degrees Celsius.

Beheira governorate in the northern Delta experienced heavy rain during the early hours of Sunday.

Light rains have also showered greater Cairo.

Pictures from Alexandria have been circulating on social media outlets showing cars, taxis, microbuses and people partly submerged in water as a result of heavy rains. Residents of the city expressed anger against the authorities because the city’s poor infrastructure frequently allows the streets to flood during heavy rain.

Bad weather conditions have repeatedly paralysed life in different part of the country due to overall deterioration in infrastructure.
