Egypt's Police Officers Coalition asks for rights monitors in police stations

Police officers have demanded the presence of prosecution and rights activists' in police stations to avoid rights violations

In a statement released on Friday, members of the Police Officers Coalition have demanded the presence of a prosecution member and a rights activist in each police station in the country.  

The coalition stressed the importance of having a prosecution member and an activist from the National Council for Human Rights in each police station to guarantee that the law is being followed and no rights are violated.

Friday’s statement was released as an expression of support to the changes currently being undertaken by the ministry of interior.

The coalition members have also requested that police martyrs and injured members be compensated.
