The Egyptian presidency condemnded "with the harshest words" Friday's "terrorist" incidents in several locations in Paris, according to a Friday statement.

The Egyptian ambassador to Paris was delegated by the president to offer condolences to the French political leadership, and to the government and people of the "French Republic friend" regarding the victims of the "brutal terrorist incidents," according to the statement.

Egypt's ambassador was also delegated to "confirm Egypt's solidarity with France and its support for the international efforts made to fight terrorism, which knows neither borders no religion; rather its treacherous hand has extended to take the life of innocent people and to destroy without differentiation in different countries of the world," the statement said.

At least 120 people died in Paris in a series of attacks Friday, the French presidency said. Around six sites saw attacks, including Bataclan Theatre which witnessed at least 100 deaths when attackers opened fire on concert-goers.

The Egyptian presidency also reiterated earlier calls by President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi for global cooperation to fight terrorism.

"Egypt expresses its complete trust that such terrorist events will not weaken the will of the countries and the people who love peace, but will increase their determination to fight and defeat terrorism in order to protect the structure of their states and to preserve their capacities.

"This matter requires unifying the efforts of the international community through a comprehensive approach in facing the terrorism poison which targets the shaking of security and stability in different parts of the world, without differentiating between them," Friday's statement said.

In an August interview with Russian news agency TASS, President El-Sisi had called for a "global strategy" to combat terrorism, not from "individul countries but from the whole world."

France declared a state of emergency and closed its borders following the attacks.
