Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi stressed the importance of international coordination in fighting terrorism during a Monday meeting with French President Francois Hollande and French Prime Minister Manuel Valls.

The meeting came on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris.

The Egyptian president also offered his condolences to the French officials for the terrorist attacks that struck Paris on 13 November, killing 130 people.

The officials also discussed the strength of the bilateral relations and cooperation in different fields between Cairo and Paris. 

El-Sisi stressed that all acts of terrorism have no religion nor nation and that they are "quite far away from the teaching of Islam."

The two leaders also discussed the latest developments in Libya and Syria.

El-Sisi stressed the importance of fighting extremists in Libya and supporting the legitimate government.

Speaking to the French PM, El-Sisi said that Egypt is looking forward to more cooperation with France and to attracting foreign investors in giant national projects such as the New Suez Canal.

From his side, the French PM said that his country is paying great attention to investing in Egypt and to taking advantage of investment opportunities in different fields.

He also said that Egypt an essential country for security and stability in the Middle East.

El-Sisi is currently heading a committee representing African nations taking part in formulating a universal and legally binding UN agreement on climate change.
