The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said on Wednesday that the country is expected to witness cold weather on Thursday morning and that temperatures will drop as it becomes darker throughout the day, a statement read.

"Heavy rains are expected to fall on the northern cities of the country as well as mild rains in Cairo and governorates in the Nile Delta," the statement also said.

Temperatures in Cairo will reach a high of 17 degrees Celsius and a low of 10. The coastal city Alexandria is expected to see a high of 16 degrees Celsius and a low of 10 degrees.

Suez Canal cities as (Ismailia, Suez and others) will all experience similar temperatures ranging between a high of 17-18 degrees and a low of 10 degrees.

EMA warned Egyptians earlier this week of cold and rainy weather that will prevail throughout the week.

Early in November, extreme weather conditions in Egypt's Beheira caused the death of 18 people, as many of the governorate's streets and houses were flooded. Alexandria also saw heavy rain, which caused the flooding of streets and buildings and the death of five people a week earlier.
