The Freedom and Justice Party will not march in Tahrir on 9 September, claiming its aims are not concrete

The General Secretary of the Freedom and Justice Party Saad El-Kataneny announced that the party, affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, was not going to participate in the million-man protest to be held on 9 September 2011 in Tahrir Square.

El-Kataneny stated that the aim of the million man protest is to press for the demands of the revolution, but he claims that many of the revolution’s goals have been achieved already.

He also argues that those participating in the protest have not yet agreed on common demands. The Muslim Brotherhood leader requested that Egyptian political forces give the officials enough time to implement the demands of the people and said that if the officials failed to do so, the people would return once again to Tahrir Square.
