Egypt is expected to experience moderate spring weather on Wednesday, following a heatwave last week that saw temperatures soar to 37 degrees in Cairo, state news agency MENA reported.

Cairo will see highs of 28 degrees Celsius and lows of 17 on Wednesday, while the coastal city of Alexandria will experience highs of 24 and lows of 15.

The Red Sea resorts of Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh will experience highs of 32 and 33 and lows of 18 and 22 respectively.

The weather is expected to be on the hotter side in parts of Upper Egypt, while early morning fogs will form on the northern coasts, the Delta cities, and Cairo.

A mild wind will be active on the Gulf of Suez, which could cause disturbances in maritime navigations.

Waves in the Mediterranean will range between one to 1.5 metres in height, while waves in the Red Sea will reach 2.5 to three metres in height.
