The ruling military council gave its nod Saturday to expats voting, declaring a new law that grants and regulates voting for Egyptians abroad.

The window for Egyptian expatriates to register to vote in this month’s parliamentary elections closes today.

By Saturday, the number of foreign based Egyptians who are now eligible to cast their votes in the ballot is 328,500.

Egyptians living abroad are estimated at eight million.
