Cairo temperatures to near 40 degrees Celsius on Thursday

Temperatures in Cairo are expected to reach a high of of 39 degrees Celsius and low of 26 degrees on Thursday, state news agency quoted a statement by Egypt’s Meteorology Authority(EMA) as saying.

Humidity in Cairo will reach highs of 90 percent during the early morning and night and will average 35 percent between 12pm to 3pm, EMA Spokesman Waheed Seoudi told Ahram Online.

Temperatures in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria are expected to be milder for residents and summer tourists on Thursday with a high of 32 and low of 26 degrees Celsius; humidity in the city will average 95 percent during the early morning and night and 55 percent between 12pm to 3pm.

Upper Egypt’s Aswan and Luxor will witness higher temperatures with both registering highs of 43 and lows of 26 degrees Celsius.

Winds will be active on the Gulf of Suez, which might disrupt navigation, EMA’s statement added.

Waves on both the Mediterranean and Red Seas will be mild ranging between 1.5 to two meters in height.
