Egypt’s President Abdel-Fatah El-Sisi and attendees at the World Youth Forum observed a moment of silence on Friday evening in Sharm El-Sheikh for the victims of the terrorist attack which killed at least 7 Copts and injured 20 near the Monastery of Saint Samuel the Confessor in Upper Egypt's Minya today.

The World Youth Forum, which is organized by Egypt, is officially taking place from 3-6 November in Sharm El-Sheikh, South Sinai.

“The President asserts, in the presence of youths from different parts of the world, that Egypt will always stand strong in the face of terrorism and extremism,”  the President’s official page on Facebook

Earlier today, El-Sisi issued a statement also on his official Facebook page mourning the victims, vowing to continue the war against terrorism. 

The Egyptian President also called Pope Tawadros II, the head of the Coptic Orthodox Church, to express his sincere condolences for the victims of the terrorist attack on a bus carrying Coptic Christians

Meanwhile, Egypt’s prosecutor-general Nabil Sadek has dispatched a team of prosecutors to the site of the terrorist attack to start investigations.
