FJP’s parliamentary speaker choices announced

Three names being considered by the Freedom and Justice Party for parliamentary speaker, decision to be declared Monday

Azab Mostafa, member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) Supreme Committee stated on Misr Toqarer on Al-Hayat 2 satellite channel that his party is considering several candidates for the position of parliamentary speaker, to be finalized on Monday.

Names stated by Azab included Saad El-Katatny, FJP secretary, Essam El-Erian, FJP deputy head and Wahid Abd El-Meguid, coordinator of the Democratic Alliance for Egypt and former Wafd member.

Azab added that it was not likely that candidates for the parliament’s two deputy speakers will be from the FJP.  

The FJP dominated Democratic Alliance has won the highest number of seats in the lower house elections.
