At least three people were killed after a building collapsed in Alexandria on Monday, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.
Three bodies were retrieved from the debris of the building in Youssef El-Hakim Street, in the city's Karmouz neighbourhood.
The search is ongoing to find any survivors or further casualties.
Al-Ahram added that the four-story building had been issued with a legal decision ordering the removal of its third and fourth floor and the renovation of the first and second floor in 2013.
Building collapses are not unusual in Egypt and are usually attributed to violations of building regulations, illegal building extensions, and lax government oversight.
Over the weekend, a woman was killed and five others injured when an apartment building collapsed in Qalyoubiya, north of Cairo.
