Egypt's People’s Assembly will convene an emergency session Thursday to discuss the melee that took place following the Masry-Ahly league game Wednesday.
On his Facebook page, parliamentarian Amr Hamzawy said he would call for the sacking of the minister of interior as well as the security head of Port Said.
Amid the notable absence of security forces, hundreds of Masry fans stormed the pitch and chased Ahly players who fled towards the dressing room.
At the time of press, the death toll is at least 73 with over 1,000 injured.
