Egypt's Sisi, Russian industry and trade minister discuss boosting economic cooperation

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi received on Wednesday Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov in the presence of Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr and Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar.

President El-Sisi asked the Russian minister to convey his greetings and appreciation to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, praising the steady development of bilateral relations between the two countries, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.

Meanwhile, the Russian minister conveyed Putin's greetings to President El-Sisi, asserting the importance of Egypt as a strategic partner to Russia in the region.

Manturov also voiced Russia's keenness to consolidate relations with Egypt, mainly at the economic and trade levels, citing the ambitious and fruitful economic and development path that is adopted by the Egyptian state.

The meeting touched on the economic cooperation between the two countries and beefing up Russian investments in Egypt in addition to establishing joint projects in various sectors given the outcome of the 12th session of the joint committee for economic and trade cooperation.

Manturov highlighted Russia's opening of this year's edition of the 'Big Industrial Week' event in Cairo with a wide participation of many Russian mega companies.
