Senior vice president of the Russian Export Centre Aleksey Kozhevnikov said on Wednesday that the centre is making weekly visits to Egypt to follow up on the implementation of a number of joint projects.

The most important of these projects is the under-construction Russian industrial zone in the Suez Canal economic zone as well as railway projects.

On the second day of the Russian-African summit in Sochi, Kozhevnikov said that Russia is working to establish industrial zones which have customs and tax incentives in many other African countries, including Nigeria.

He said that the Russian industrial zone will include the construction of a unique complex on an area of 525 acres, where both exporters and importers from Russia will be able to establish their own production centres near the promising markets in the Middle East and Africa.

Kozhevnikov said that so far, 25 agreements have been signed with Russian companies in the industrial zone in the sectors of chemical and biological materials, fertilisers, construction materials, metals, and agricultural and electrical machinery.
