Egypt's Sisi set to meet German Bundestag president on Monday

He will also join the German president in a meeting attended by heads of state and governments of countries participating in the G20 Compact with Africa meetings

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi is set to hold talks on Monday at the Bundestag with the to head of Germany's parliament, Wolfgang Schäuble, and a number of German MPs during his visit to Berlin to participate in the G20 Compact with Africa (CWA) meetings.

El-Sisi will also meet with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier for talks at the German presidency headquarters.

He will also join the German president in a meeting attended by heads of state and governments of countries participating in the CWA meetings.

The G20 Compact with Africa summit, launched in 2017, is an initiative which aims to boost economic cooperation between Africa and G20 member states via joint projects that contribute to more growth in Africa.

Twelve African countries have joined the initiative: Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Morocco, Rwanda, Senegal, Togo and Tunisia.

Egypt currently chairs the African Union.
