Egypt's Sisi discusses Libyan developments with Russia's Putin by phone

The two leaders also discussed ways to boosts mutual relations in all fields

Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi discussed the recent developments in Libya with Russian president Vladimir Putin in a telephone call on Friday.

According to a statement from El-Sisi’s office, the two agreed on the importance of joint efforts to end the Libyan crisis through a political settlement, by combating armed militias and terrorist organisations, and by putting an end to illegal intervention in Libyan affairs.

They also discussed ways to boosts Egyptian and Russian relations in all fields.

El-Sisi praised the development projects the two countries are currently cooperating on, like the planned Dabaa nuclear power plant on Egypt’s north coast, and the Russian industrial zone in the Suez Canal economic zone.

On Thursday, El-Sisi discussed by phone recent developments in Libya with US President Donald Trump and Italy Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.
