Egypt's National Council for Childhood and Motherhood (NCCM)
Egypt's National Council for Childhood and Motherhood (NCCM) announced that it had received 647956 reports through the child rescue line (1600) during 2019.
The reports ranged from mental, legal issues to female mutilation, child marriage, and human trafficking crimes, according to a statement issued by the NCCM Wednesday.
Azza Ashmawi secretary General of the NCCM said the council foiled 659 attempts of child marriage in Egypt's governorates throughout last year.
The line received 1022 reports to accommodate children deprived of parental care, and collected 779 complaints about educational matters and 401 others about health problems, Ashmawi added.
She noted that the Child Rescue Line in Egypt is working around the clock to receive complaints from citizens for free to ensure immediate action by specialists once complaints are reported.
The NCCM Secretary-General pointed out to many campaigns have been launched recently with the aim to raise awareness to end violence against children such as protect her from mutilation, I am against bullying, and Calm not Harm campaigns.
Those campaigns have vehemently contributed to decreasing the number of the aforementioned problems.
