Egyptian businessman Mansour El-Gammal died from coronavirus

Egyptian businessman Mansour El-Gammal died on Monday after suffering from acute pneumonia, a coronavirus complication, in Cairo, his family announced.

 El-Gammal, in his early 70s, was admitted to hospital last week, according to news reports.

He graduated from law school and worked as a diplomat at the Arab League before resigning and working in the tourism and business sectors.

El-Gammal married famous Egyptian actress Laila Elwli in 2007. The couple got divorced in 2015.

He is the father of author Yehia El-Gammal and the uncle of Khadija El-Gammal, the wife of Gamal Mubarak, the son of late president Hosni Mubarak.
