Egypt expressed its strong condemnation of a missile attack and bombings that targeted Kabul, the Afghan capital, between today and yesterday, killing and injuring dozens, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Sunday.
The government and people of Egypt extend their “sincere condolences” to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and the families of the victims of these brutal terrorist attacks, “wishing for a speedy recovery for the injured,” read an official statement.
Egypt expressed solidarity with friendly Afghanistan, and reiterated its firm position on rejecting all forms of terrorism, violence and extremism.
Several rockets hit residential areas in the early rush hour in the Afghan capital Kabul on Saturday, killing at least eight civilians and wounding 31, according to official statements from Afghani Ministry of Interior, as reported by Reuters.
The attack comes two days before a major donor conference for Afghanistan in Geneva.
