Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed on Monday with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias ways to boost Greek investments in Egypt and overall cooperation between the two countries.

According to a statement by the Egyptian foreign ministry, Shoukry and Dendias also discussed recent developments in regional issues of common interest.

The two ministers affirmed the strength of Egyptian-Greek relations and the friendship between the two countries in all areas.

Shoukry also expressed Egypt’s keenness to facilitate the flow of Greek investment to the country and boost tourism cooperation between the two countries.

In July 2020, Egyptian Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled El-Enani and his Greek counterpart Haris Theocharis signed an agreement on providing care for tourists visiting both countries.

The two also discussed cooperation in the energy field.

In August 2020, the two countries signed a demarcation agreement that designated an exclusive economic zone between them in the Eastern Mediterranean that contains promising oil and gas reserves.
