Egypt's electoral commission transfers three presidential candidates' violations to general prosecution

In its Wednesday night meeting, SPEC decided to transfer presidential candidates Abdul Moneim Aboul-Fotouh, Amr Moussa and Mohamed Morsi to the general prosecution for violating elections campaign rules

The Supreme Presidential Electoral Commission (SPEC) has decided to transfer presidential elections campaign violations of three presidential candidates, Abdel Moneim Aboul-Fotouh, Mohamed Morsi and Amr Moussa, to the general prosecution.

SPEC announced the move following its meeting Wednesday night, explaining that the candidates violated campaign rules in Al-Azhar University's Assiut and Mansoura branches.

Presidential elections are due to take place 23-34 May.
