Taiwanese firm Evergreen Marine has thanked the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) and other concerned parties for successfully releasing its giant ship Ever Given after it was stuck in the Suez Canal for six consecutive days.

"We are most grateful to the Suez Canal Authority and all the concerned parties for their assistance and support through this difficult and unfortunate situation," a statement by the Taiwanese firm read.

"We would also like to express our deepest appreciation to the crew, who remain steadfast in their posts, as well as the salvage experts and dredging team for their professionalism and relentless efforts over the past six days toward securing this outcome," it added.

The SCA announced on Monday afternoon that it had managed to fully refloat the Ever Given without causing any damage. Navigation along the international trade artery, which is the shortest link between Asia and Europe, resumed shortly after the refloating operations were complete.

The Canal Authority is racing to end the traffic jam caused by the incident within the next four days.
