Egypt detected 703 new coronavirus cases on Friday, bringing total cases since the outbreak last year to 203,546.
The health ministry reported 43 fatalities, bringing the death toll to 12,084.
A total of 432 patients have been discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours, bringing recoveries to 155,448.
Egypt began vaccinating priority groups in March under a wider rollout of the vaccination program after it concluded the vaccination of the country’s medical staff.
It currently administers the Chinese Sinopharm and the British-Swedish Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines, both of which were granted emergency use authorisation by authorities earlier this year.
So far, the country has obtained more than 900,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses and 650,000 Sinopharm doses.
