Egypt has expressed condolences to Iraq over a fire that killed dozens Saturday at a hospital treating coronavirus patients in Baghdad.
In a statement late Saturday, Egypt's Foreign Ministry offered sincere condolences to the bereaved families, hoping for a speedy recovery to the injured.
It also stressed its support and solidarity with Iraq over the painful loss.
At least 27 people were killed and 46 injured at Baghdad’s Ibn Khatib hospital when an oxygen tank exploded.
Iraq's state news agency INA reported the chief of Iraqi civil defense unit saying that the fire occurred in the floor designated for pulmonary intensive care unit.
He added that 90 others have been rescued from the deadly fire.
