Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed on Saturday the fast changing developments in the Palestinian territories with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan.
According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, the two foreign ministers exchanged views on the means to de-escalate tensions in the Palestinian territories. Shoukry shared the latest Egyptian efforts with concerned parties to reach an immediate ceasefire.
Shoukry and Bin Farhan agreed to coordinate on a regular basis to end the military escalation in Gaza and prevent a full fledged military confrontation which will have disastrous impact on regional peace, the statement read.
Shoukry and Bin Farhan agreed to work together in order to resume peace efforts until the two state-solution materlialises, the legitimate Palestinian rights are preserved, and a Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem is secured.
