Egypt’s top prosecutor opens meeting of Africa Prosecutors Association

The meeting discussed challenges facing prosecutors in African countries in the shadow of Covid-19 pandemic

Egypt’s top prosecutor Hamada El-Sawy on Tuesday inaugurated the first meeting of the executive committee of Africa Prosecutors Association, held via video conferencing, as a precautionary measure against Covid-19.

The meeting discussed challenges facing prosecutors in African countries in the shadow of Covid-19 pandemic, according to a statement by the Public Prosecution.

A workshop was opened on combating crimes related to migration and other organized crimes.

The Egyptian Public Prosecution, which is chairing the association, is seeking to find sources of finance to its activities including establishing partnerships with international and regional institutions in order to upgrade skills of prosecutors in the continent, according to El-Sawy.
