Egypt’s FM heads to Belgium with message from Sisi to European Council president

Shoukry is set to meet with the foreign ministers of the EU’s states during his visit, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Hafez said

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry headed to Brussels on Sunday morning to deliver a message from President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to the European Council’s President, Charles Michel.

The European Council, formed by the heads of state or government of the 27 EU member states, defines the EU’s overall political direction and priorities.

Ahmed Hafez, official spokesperson of Egypt’s foreign ministry, said in a statement that Shoukry is set to meet with the foreign ministers of the EU’s states during his visit.

The Egyptian top diplomat is also scheduled to have bilateral meetings with a number of senior officials at the European Commission to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues of mutual interest, Hafez said.
