Opposition coalition group the National Salvation Front, which is led by former presidential candidates Hamdeen Sabbahi and Amr Moussa, as well as reform campaigner Mohamed ElBaradei, is currently holding a meeting in Cairo to discuss the latest developments, following an attack by President Morsi’s Islamist supporters on anti-Morsi protesters outside the presidential palace on Wednesday afternoon.
It is expected that the group will discuss possible escalation methods, after its demands to cancel the referendum and Morsi's recent constitutional declaration, and to reform the Constituent Assembly, were ignored.
The front – which includes the Constitution Party, the Egyptian Popular Current, the Social Democratic Party and the Socialist Popular Alliance Party, among others, will hold a press conference at 7pm on Wednesday.
