A court in Cairo has postponed Abdullah Badr's appeal against his conviction for insulting Elham Shahin until 8 June.
Badr is appealing a December 2012 verdict that sentenced him to one year in jail and ordered him pay a fine of LE20,000 for insulting Shahin, a popular actress, on television.
Security forces arrested Badr on 1 May in Sharqiya, upholding the December verdict.
Shahin filed a lawsuit against Badr in September 2012 after he said she was "cursed" and "will never enter heaven."
The popular actress claimed Badr attacked her publicly after she made a statement criticising the Islamic political current, saying she would not vote for Islamist political parties.
In January, the Administrative Court ordered Badr's television show 'Fi Al-Mizan' be taken off air for 30 days.
