Violent clashes in Cairo and Alexandria kill scores

Egypt's health ministry announced Saturday that 46 were killed in clashes nationwide on Friday and early Saturday.

According to the health ministry, 38 were killed and 239 injured at clashes in Nasr City in Cairo, near the Rabaa Al-Adawiya Mosque where a sit-in by supporters of ousted Mohamed Morsi has been ongoing for several weeks.

However, Brotherhood sources say that at least 120 were killed and more than 4,500 injured. Most victims in Rabaa Al-Adawiya were transported to the field hospital, leaving them unreported by health ministry hospitals.

There were also deadly clashes in Alexandria, Egypt's second largest city.
