An Egyptian misdemeanour court has sentenced two state security policemen to two months' imprisonment with hard labour on charges of torturing two suspects in 2011, reported Aswat Masriya website.
The defendants may pay LE5,000 bail for a suspended sentence, according to Wednesday's verdict.
According to the prosecution, the policemen arrested two brothers at an airport in February 2011 and tortured them while they were detained, in an attempt to force them to confess to membership of terrorist groups.
The court also ordered the defendants to pay LE10,000 in compensation to the victims.
