Prosecutors have ordered the release of Wasat Party deputy leader Essam Sultan in his case of inciting violence.

Sultan will remain in custody, however, as he is facing separate trials for insulting the judiciary and assaulting a police officer.

Sultan and Wasat Party leader Abul-Ela Mady are accused of inciting violence during the pro-Mohamed Morsi Rabaa Al-Adawiya sit-in, which allegedly led to the torturing to death of three people.

The court had ordered Sultan's release once before but the decision was overturned when prosecutors appealed it.
 
The two men are also accused of calling on Islamists to torch state institutions in Nasr City. Both were arrested in July and were transferred to Tora Prison on the outskirts of Cairo.
