Mansoura University students march against electoral violations (Mohamed Hamama).

Students at Mansoura University staged protests on campus today, denouncing alleged vote rigging during Sunday’s parliamentary elections.

"We are protesting against electoral fraud that proved nothing but what we expected," Mohamed Hamama, a senior pharmacy student told Ahram Online in a telephone interview. “We need to expose the corruption.”

The protest drew students from the Muslim Brotherhood and the socialists.

"We are against all that is corrupt in Egypt, the government, the voting results,” Hamama continued. “The regime is founded on a fraud system, that only benefits those in power. These elections are nothing but a means to guarantee the status quo."

Similar protests were reported today in Tanta and Zagazig.
