The prosecution has set a maximum period of three years for the implementation of this strategy, it said in a statement.

The prosecution said it aims to implement the zero-paper strategy to facilitate procedures for citizens, and improve services provided to them.

The strategy also aims at achieving full justice, improving the prosecution’s performance, supporting its decision-making process, enhancing trust in it and fostering the prosecution’s integration with the state institutions.

In a speech while inaugurating the strategy, Prosecutor-General Hamada El-Sawy said digital transformation includes using modern technology to deal with all data and information and processing them digitally.

These steps will transform the prosecution’s culture and change the body’s mechanism of work to achieve comprehensive inner interdependence and effectively integrate with other state institutions and agencies, El-Sawy explained.

The prosecution said the strategy constitutes a historic, scientific and practical step that is first of its kind in the prosecution’s history.

Under the strategy, the prosecution said it seeks to adopt a scientific approach in project management through organizing training courses for those involved in implementing the plan.

Egypt has been accelerating its efforts in achieving digital transformation of all government services as part of Egypt Vision 2030.

The country raised public investment allocations for the information and communication technology (ICT) sector by an unprecedented 300 percent in FY 2021/22, according to Egypt’s budget plan data, to push digital transformation forward.

Last month, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi urged stepping up efforts to develop and automate the litigation system in Egypt to accelerate the proceedings in a way that helps achieve the highest degrees of justice.

The president also ordered equipping courts countrywide with top-notch technical gadgets and techniques to facilitate such services for Egyptians.

El-Sisi in April also inaugurated an integrated complex for secured and smart documents in Cairo in line with the country’s digital transformation plan.

The complex is set to be issuing all government documents and certificates at a high level of security via a unified central system.
