Mena Tamar, a student at Sayed Al-Shuhadaa public primary school in Agouza district, succumbed to her injuries shortly after being transferred to a hospital, the statement added.
An initial investigation revealed that the student fell "after scaling the school's third floor wall without the teacher noticing," according to the statement.
The student did so "after she was asked to bring in her mother to pick her from school," the statement pointed out without providing further details.
The school principal, the school's third floor supervisor and the aforementioned teacher were issued a three-day suspension from work by the Giza governor.
The incident, which comes during the first week of the 2022/23 academic year, was referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.
The incident comes only 24 hours after a concrete stair fence collapsed at a preparatory school in Giza governorate, killing a student and injuring 15 others.
A two-metre-long section of concrete fence in Al-Motamadiya preparatory school for girls in Kerdasa district collapsed on Sunday after students rushed onto the stairs that led to their classrooms, according to the prosecution, which is currently probing into the incident.
Five of the 15 injured students have been discharged from the hospital after receiving medical treatment, announced Health Ministry Spokesperson Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar.
The remaining 10 injured students are still in the hospital and receiving the necessary treatment and medical care, Abdel-Ghaffar said, while assuring that they are in "stable" condition and are expected to be released within the next few days.
