Egypt releases 30 more pretrial detainees: Presidential Pardon Committee

Egyptian authorities released 30 more pretrial detainees pending investigation on Wednesday, announced member of the Presidential Pardon Committee Tarek El-Khouly.

"The committee expresses its gratitude to the President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi in addition to the Public Prosecutor and Minister of Interior," El-Khouly wrote on his official Facebook page, adding that more pretrial detainess would be released in the near future.

He also pledged more work on reintegrating those released back into society while cooperating with all state agencies and institutions.

Hundreds of pretrial detainees have beehn released fro jail since the reactivation of the Presidential Pardon Committte in April of last year.

The committee is in charge of reviewing the cases of political prisoners in cooperation with state institutions and NGOs.
