The court also acquitted one of the defendants.

The defendants were convicted in the killing of Hamada Ali Mohamed Fakhir on February 7, 2021. They were also found guilty of robbery and illegal possession of weapons.

According to the prosecution, the defendants conspired to extort money from Fakhir, who owned a famous kebab restaurant in Giza. They arrived at his farm armed with guns, fired several shots, and threatened him.

When the businessman refused to pay, the defendants shot him in the head. They also stole money and jewelry from the victim’s farm.

This is considered a first-degree sentence, eligible to be carried out.
