The Ministry of the Interior said its Social Protection Department reviewed the inmates' files to decide on who would be released under the pardon.
The department concluded that 746 inmates were eligible for early release.
The move came as part of the ministry’s commitment to implementing modern concepts of penal policy, providing comprehensive care for inmates, and enhancing the operational role of rehabilitation measures, the ministry clarified.
