Two dead, 18 injured in multi-vehicle crash on Alexandria–Matrouh Road

The Ministry of Health and Population announced on Thursday that two people were killed and 18 others were injured in a road accident involving a truck and several cars on the Alexandria–Matrouh Road.

The ministry said it dispatched 10 fully equipped ambulances to the scene immediately after receiving the alert, with the first vehicle arriving within two minutes.

The injured were transferred to Al-Dabaa Central Hospital for treatment, while the deceased were placed under the care of the relevant authorities. An additional 10 ambulances were put on standby to respond to any further developments.

Health Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar is closely monitoring the situation, according to the statement.

He instructed his deputy, Mohamed El-Tayeb, to head to Al-Dabaa hospital to oversee medical care for the injured and coordinate directly with officials on the ground.

Abdel-Ghaffar expressed condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured, stressing that the ministry is committed to providing comprehensive medical support.

Hospitals in Matrouh and neighboring governorates have also been placed on high alert.
