The ruling handed the defendants three years in prison and an EGP 200,000 fine for verbal harassment, plus an additional year and an EGP 100,000 fine for causing injury. They were also fined EGP 50 for damaging the victims’ car.
The incident began several weeks ago at a café in 6 October City, where a group of men harassed three women. After the women left, the men followed them in three separate cars along Al Wahat Road.
The pursuit ended in a collision, leaving one victim with bruises and abrasions, another with a forehead laceration requiring surgery, and a third narrowly escaping serious injury.
A passerby filmed the chase on his phone, capturing the men’s licence plates, and helped transport the women to the hospital.
The video went viral on social media, prompting security forces to identify and arrest the suspects and seize their vehicles as evidence.
