The service reflects the state’s efforts to expand citizens’ electronic access to data, improve service quality, and protect personal information, the prosecution said in a statement.
Because family cases involve sensitive details, access is verified through Egypt’s national digital identity system, limiting each user to their own case records.
Users must confirm their identity through the digital identity feature on the Digital Egypt platform, developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the prosecution added.
The system does not grant access to information beyond “the limits permitted by the rules and procedures governing the service,” it added, saying the safeguard would improve “levels of privacy and security in dealing with judicial data electronically.”
The new tool builds on the prosecution’s wider digital transformation strategy, first unveiled in October 2021 to create a “zero-paper” system for handling cases nationwide.
The prosecution has steadily added digital services since then. In July, it rolled out case-tracking tools through the Ana Vodafone app, allowing users to check family and criminal rulings, request certified case documents, and manage traffic fines from their phones.
It also launched an online criminal record certificate service in June for Egyptians abroad, issued through the same Digital Egypt platform and developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Interior.
The prosecution first began digitizing services for citizens in September 2020, when it introduced online submission of judicial petitions and complaints, cutting processing time from about two weeks to under four hours.
