Egypt supports Yemeni unity, condemns attacks against Saudi Arabia: Shoukry to UN special envoy

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry told UN special envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg on Monday that Egypt supports the unity of Yemen’s territory and condemns the use of the country as a launching pad for attacks against Saudi Arabia.

In a meeting in Cairo with the newly appointed UN special envoy, Shoukry said it is necessary to support the political solution in Yemen and that security and stability in the country are part of the stability and security of the region.

For his part, Grundberg discussed with the Egyptian minister his most recent talks to resume the dialogue between the Yemeni parties as well as the latest developments in Yemen.

Grundberg was appointed as UN special envoy to Yemen in August.
