Egypt offers its condolences over powerful storms' victims in Turkey

Egypt expressed its condolences to Turkey over the extreme windstorms that hit the country on Monday and Tuesday, leaving several people dead or wounded in a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs that was released on Thursday.

At least five people were killed, and 52 others were injured when extreme windstorms swept through Turkey, wrecking havoc in several parts across the country, according to the Turkish health ministry.

“Egypt has followed up with deep sadness and sorrow the reports on human losses resulting from extreme windstorms that swept through Turkey and left a number of victims and injured, in addition to the material losses,” the statement said.

Egypt has offered its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery, the ministry added.
