Passengers aboard bus in Sokoto state, northwest of Nigeria, were burnt to death when gunmen torched it on Tuesday, while worshippers were killed on Thursday after gunmen attacked a mosque in a rural village in Niger state, west-central Nigeria, according to reports.
The attacks are the latest in the escalating violence in Africa's most populous country, where armed groups have been targeting villages and commuters for ransoms.
