The online registration for the fourth edition of the WYF started on the official website for youths of different genders, aged 18-30, on 15 November.

Due to the youth’s high demand to take part in the fourth edition, the WYF decided to give the opportunity for more young people to participate by extending the registration period, a statement by the WYF read on Wednesday.

The WYF will be held from 10 to 13 January 2022 in Sharm El-Sheikh under the patronage of Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.

On Sunday, the forum announced its agenda for events and activities of the fourth edition, including the Start-up Vein, WYF Labs, and World Youth Theatre.

The fourth edition of the forum comes after the postponement of the 2020 edition due to the coronavirus pandemic. The main themes of the fourth edition of the forum are post-COVID impacts, climate change, social security, human rights, entrepreneurship, technology, 5G networks, digital transformation, distance learning, the environment, and the future of energy, according to the official website of the WYF.

The WYF is attended by a wide range of participants, including and not limited to heads of state and government, international young leaders, inspiring youths in various fields, prominent international figures, and youth groups from around the world.

Over 15,000 people from over 160 countries took part in the last three editions of the forum.

The United Nations Commission for Social Development has recognised the three previous editions of the World Youth Forum in Egypt as an international platform for discussing youth issues, according to the WYF statement.

The WYF is an annual event first launched in 2017 to bring together the world’s youth to promote dialogue and discuss development issues.
